Jenna Kinkade is a mathematician, engineer, scientist, dungeon master, and designer of unique and eccentric board games.

Despite the analytic training from her two masters’ degrees and doctorate, her fiction is vivid and twisted in a way that engages the fringes of the imagination and breathes new life into tired tropes. Jenna began writing stories as a teenager, inspired by her passion for visual art and her love of ’70s comic books and sci-fi. Now she creates intricate worlds and devises innovative magical technologies for her stories and Dungeons & Dragons campaigns, aiming always to tell a tale that is fresh and new. Serpent Ascending is her first novel.

Jenna lives in Indianapolis, Indiana, with two dogs that adore her and three cats that tolerate her. There, she continues her scientific endeavors and designs board games as a hobby.
